Welcome, friends, as I add yet another Other Half beer to my growing repertoire of their beers that I have tasted. Tonight's triumph is Blue Crab Double Dry Hopped India Pale Ale, and this is the first "seafood" I have had from Other Half. So far, I have had 26 different beers from Other Half, though this is only my ninth review. Fear not, for I have tasting notes on all of them, and the rest should be coming soon to a guruofbrew.com near you.
The list of beers I've sampled from Other Half so far reads more like a buffet menu than a bar list. I have enjoyed Chicken Legs and Turkey Legs, a Jumbo Slice and a Dollar Slice, Bacon, a Pretzel, and a Hot Dog. Can't forget my veggies, so of course there has been Broccoli , Neon Broccoli, Bits of Broccoli, Chicken and Broccoli, and Spinach. Cheese goes great with broccoli, and I enjoyed Cheddar and Blue Cheese (I have Gouda in the fridge). How about dessert. We have Donuts and a Mister Softee Space Twistee, washed down with an Egg Cream. And when the bill comes, you can settle up in 4 EZ Payments.
Other Half Blue Crab Double Dry Hopped India Pale Ale has an alcohol content of 6.5% by volume and my can was stamped 04/02/26 and I drank it on August 20th.

Tasting Notes
Other Half Blue Crab Double Dry Hopped India Pale Ale pours to a super hazy yellow orange color with a thick fluffy head and a nose of super juicy orange and tangerine pulp and rind. Taking a sip, the beer is medium in body, a little more than I have come to expect from these beers. It pops immediately with citrusy orange and tangerine flesh and pulp; there are tasty raw carrot notes here, too. It all finishes up nicely with dry herbal citrus grapefruit rind.
Value & Verdict
I paid $7.99 for my pint can from Half Time. Total Wine sells the beer for $18.99 a 4-pack at the Short Pump, Virginia store, and it shows in stock as I type.
Would this beer pair well with Chesapeake Bay Blue Crab dipped in melted butter? I don't see why not, though the fat from the butter might well impair your taste buds from some of the juicy IPA flavors.
