Extra Extra Bayou Juice Hazy Double India Pale Ale

Decisions were made; they had to be made, you see. Ultimately, I think I made the right one, but I will allow you to be the judge of that. I was at the Stout Brothers Woodstock Beer Market, and they had Weldwerks Extra Extra Bayou Juice Hazy Double India Pale Ale on tap, and I asked the bartender to fill up a crowler for me. The first decision was made, amongst all the many beers they had on tap and in cans and bottles, I was getting Extra Extra Bayou Juice. Of that there was no doubt.

But would it be in a crowler? “I have that in cans,” the bartender said. “And it’s cheaper.” I had looked at the can section and not seen it, and so informed him, which prompted him to dart out and, in short order, return with a 4-pack. Since he went to all that effort, I made my next decision, and went with the cans. I had decided to get three crowlers, deciding again that one of them would be the delightful and rarely seen Sweetwater Exodus Porter.

Now, I had to decide what would replace the crowler of Extra Extra Extra Bayou Juice. I went with Brooklyn Brown, a classic old favorite of mine, just as the Exodus Porter is. Make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver and the other’s gold.

Arriving home and wanting to drink some beer later that night, I looked at my haul of crowlers and had to make another decision: which one would I drink tonight? I decided on the Extra Extra Bayou Juice, and I’m here to tell you all about it.

Weldwerks says:

Brewed With Our Friends At Parish Brewing Company This Is A Hazy Double India Pale Ale with Cascade, Citra, El Dorado, Mosaic & Simcoe hops

Weldwerks Extra Extra Bayou Juice Hazy Double India Pale Ale has an alcohol content of 8.2% by volume and I paid $22.00 for my 4-pack of pint cans. A 32-ounce crowler was going to run me a few bucks more than that, and I got twice as much beer. While I do generally prefer draft to canned or bottled beer, these cans were very fresh indeed, stamped on the bottom XXB 01/17/25.

Weldwerks Extra Extra Bayou Juice Hazy Double India Pale Ale pours to a hazy orange juice color with a thick fluffy white head and a nose of super juicy citrus fruit. Taking a sip, the beer is medium in body and immediately packed with waves of juicy citrus fruit. Orange and tangerine are most notable. There’s some tropical, too, with pineapple and mango, and the whole affair is nicely balanced with a mild bitterness and a kiss of earthy herbal hop aroma at the last.

All in all, a decidedly good beer.

Glad I tried it?  T

Would I rebuy it??
