Made another trip to this Ringwood brewpub Monday night, and as usual was not disappointed. Brought home a growler of this beer and I'm just opening it now, I also enjoyed a pint at the pub. I love Pumpkin beers, and this is my first Ringwood version. It works quite well. Rich amber-brown color, generous carbonation and head formation, rich spicy nose full of nutmeg and cinnamon. There is good pumpkin flavor on the palate but the spices predominate, a subtle touch of Ringwood diacetyl reminds one of a buttery pie crust. Nice malt background rounds out the beer nicely, this is a beer best suited for thanksgiving day with a thick slice of pumpkin pie covered with whipped cream, though I doubt it will last that long! Highly recommended!
And remember, try a new beer today, and drink outside the box.
