Dank is the New Juicy IPA

Oh! Oh! Vitamin Sea beer! And in Georgia no less! Yep, you know it, I have had beers from the Vitamin Sea Brewing Company of Weymouth and Plymouth, Massachusetts. Those, though, I had purchased from Half Time Beverage of New York. Recently, though, my wife sent me to the Woodstock Beer Market by the Stout Brothers-with her credit card no less! A questionable decision to be sure, but hey, she married me, a far more questionable decision indeed.

Anyway, one of the beers I picked up there was Dank is the New Juicy IPA. It is not listed on the brewery website, and there is not much of a description on the can label. The description for the beer on Untappd says:

New England IPA Hopped with Galaxy/Citra/Amarillo/CTZ

Vitamin Sea Dank is the New Juicy has an alcohol content of 6.4% by volume and I paid $5 for my pint can. This is the only pricing information that I have. My can was stamped TALL DANK AND HAZY 12/12/24.

Vitamin Sea Dank is the New Juicy pours to a hazy orange color with a thick fluffy white head and a nose of juicy citrusy herbal goodness. Thick Brussels lacing follows the liquid all the way to the bottom of the glass Taking a sip, the beer is medium in body with citrusy grapefruit pit, flesh and peel. It’s “dank” with vegetal earthy notes, too, and a dry bitter finish.

I like the combination of juicy and dank earthy here, this is indeed a great example of a juicy New England hazy IPA.
