Motel Paloma Grapefruit Summer Ale

Review Date 6/28/2024 By John Staradumsky

Summer is here, and its already a hot one. It’s mid to high 90s here in North Georgia, and even hotter in other parts of the country. In New England of all plac es the temps have clocked in close to 100 degrees, almost unheard of this time of year there. Still, there are ways to cool off, and I can’t think of a better one than with a cold refreshing beer. Few refresh as well as Victory Motel Paloma, a Grapefruit Summer Ale in the brewery’s Season Pass series.

Victory says on the label:

Grab your room key! Motel Paloma is open for business. This cocktail-inspired Summer Ale is equal parts juicy and refreshing. With notes of bright grapefruit, blood orange and tangy lime, it's the perfect summertime refresher to help you make a splash. Motel Paloma. For your extended stay.

Also from the label:

Ale with natural flavors and caramel color.

Victory Motel Paloma has an alcohol content of 6% by volume with 25 IBUS. It is hopped with Mandarinas. Total Wine here in Georgia sells the beer for $12.49 a six-pack. My bottle is stamped Best By Nov 16 23. I drank it on November 9th of 2023. Just made it!

Victory Motel Paloma pours to a pale golden color with a thick rocky but short-lived head and a nose of juicy vibrant grapefruit. Taking a sip, the beer is light and malty uo front, crisp biscuity but that quickly yields to a vigorous tart grapefruit peel and pith character. Bright citrusy fruit pops through, and the beer finishes balanced and refreshing with a fruity and perhaps gently hoppy bitterness.

Delicious and refreshing.

Glad I tried it?  T

Would I rebuy it??
