Unibroue, Chambly, Québec, Canada.
based on a 16th century recipe, brewed first for the 1995 Quebec Medieval festival.
Pale gold color, short-lived fizzy head formation, delicate yeasty nose. Light bodied, refreshing beer hints at lemon with noticeable but not overpowering Belgian Brett yeastiness. Light malt palate. A remarkably drinkable beer with lots of flavor and a smooth, rather dry finish. Weighs in at a moderate 5% alcohol by volume, if lite beer had been invented in a monastery, this would have been it. Fantastic stuff.
And remember, try a new beer today, and drink outside the box.
