In the words of Homer Simpson, WooHoo! I've tasted big malty barleywines from England, big hoppy ones from the American West Coast, and complex fruity ones from both. Wolf's breath seems to combine the best of all three worlds. It truly is a big beer, dark brown in color, lightly carbonated with minimal head. The nose is intense with piny Cascade aromas, and absolutely implores you to take a sip. You won't be sorry when you do partake of this 60 IBU, 9% ABV barleywine/winter warmer, because the extremely complex palate throws all kinds of flavors at you: strong notes of passion fruit, robust sweet malt undertones and a very warm alcohol finish that struggles to the death (and just barely loses to) a very bitter and piny Cascades/Golding finale. Absolutely incredible, a beer that would no doubt age quite well, but being a brewpub beer will unfortunately never get the chance. Bravo!
And remember, try a new beer today, and drink outside the box.
