Trinity Brewpub has always been my favorite RI brewpub, and tonight's visit only reinforced that opinion. Admittedly, I'm a Mug Club member, and get 25oz mugs for the same price others pay for a pint. That wouldn't matter, however, if the beers weren't at best exceptional, and at worst interesting. I started off tonight with their version of a Berliner-Weiss, which was slightly tart and full of raspberry. Trinity has unfortunately removed the option of a dash of raspberry syrup by adding it before fermentation. Thus, the beer finishes dry, since the fruit sugars seem to be fermented out. Stylistically, this is off the mark, but the beer IS delicious and a great summer quencher.
And remember, try a new beer today, and drink outside the box.
