Bruguru here with another review of a beer from Nashville’s Tailgate Beer. This one is my third and the more I drink, the more I like. This time around I’m enjoying a Tailgate Peanut Butter Milk Stout, and it’s a tasty brew indeed. Tailgate does not put much information on their website, but I do have some from the can.
They call it a “Milk Stout with Peanut Butter Flavor and Carmel Color Added”.
They say:
Peanut Butter. Milk Stout. The name says it, but the taste…is everything. Rich, creamy, velvety, delicious.
Ingredients from the can:
Malts: Pale, Victory, Chocolate, Roasted Barley
Hops: Nugget
Tailgate Peanut Butter Milk Stout has an alcohol content of 5.8% by volume with 33 IBUs. It was running $9.99 a six-pack when I bought it.
Tailgate Peanut Butter Milk Stout pours to a jet-black color with a thick creamy tan head and a promising peanut butter nose. Taking a sip, the beer is smooth and gently roasty with a decided peanut butter character, though I think really it reminds me more of Mary Jane candies as these beers tend to do. You can’t miss the peanut nuttiness, and the beer finishes smooth and creamy and gently roasty bitter.
One of the best “peanut butter” beers I’ve had. Well done!
And remember, try a new beer today, and drink outside the box.
