Country Kush India Pale Ale

Yay! A new Sycamore beer for me. The more Sycamore beer I drink, the more I like it, too. So there is that. This time around I’m enjoying a pint can of Sycamore Country Kush India Pale Ale out on the patio on a truly spectacular Spring evening. It’s 80 degrees, partly cloudy and with a gentle breeze that refreshes almost as much as this beer does.

Can you say dank? I can say dank. One sip of this and you’ll think you just had your grass cut, or ate a bowl of fresh spinach, or…I could go on. Instead, I think I’ll shut up and hop on over to the Sycamore website, where they say about this beer…..well, they don’t say anything about it there. I did find this on their Facebook page though:

Introducing Country Kush IPA, our new brew that captures the essence of North Carolina’s countryside in every sip.

This cannabis-forward IPA combines dank hops with bright citrus and tropical fruit, all layered over a spicy, earthy base of Carolina-grown rye.

Made in collaboration with @riverbendmalt in Asheville, this rye adds a distinct bready spice, giving the beer its rich “country” character. Plus, each can supports local farms that have weathered the hardships of Hurricane Helene.

Beyond the hops, a special yeast transforms the rye’s malt flavors into tropical notes of guava, blood orange, and pineapple, resulting in a smooth, medium-bodied IPA that’s as fruity as it is dank.

Don’t forget to take a close look at our labels 😉 Like many of our cans, there are hidden images in our artwork waiting to be discovered.

Look above and you can indeed take a close look at that label, and find the hidden images for yourself. I carefully peeled it off the can and scanned it in for your viewing pleasure. Just another of the many services we provide here at Guruofbrew.com.

Sycamore Country Kush India Pale Ale has an alcohol content of 7.4% by volume and I paid $4.99 for a single pint can. It was selling for $14.99 a 4-pack at the time. My can was marked CANNED 11/21/24  Country Kuuuush  Take Some Hoooome.  I bought it in December of 2024 and drank it in May after finding it in the back of my beer fridge.

Sycamore Country Kush India Pale Ale pours to a hazy orange color with a thick rocky head formation and a dank vegetal nose. Taking a sip, the beer is medium in body and immediately herbal dank and citrusy. The rye does add body and yes a bready note, if a spicy one. The beer is herbal and green tea leafy and perfumey in aroma. There is citrus tangerine and a long dry bitter finish.

If you are not a fan of dank, do not buy this beer. If you enjoy it as I do, though, then get thee some post haste. And tell them the Bruguru sent you.

Glad I tried it?  T

Would I rebuy it??
