Oh! Oh! Look what I got! Two dollar gas station can! I just love two dollar gas station cans. I mean, you’re at the gas station anyway, so why not check out the beer section? This time around, I got a pint can of Sweetwater H.A.Z.Y. IPA-and for just two bucks! How do you like that? But wait, doesn’t Sweetwater already have a hazy IPA? Of course they do! I count at least the following that they call “hazy”. Dank Tank Fresh Sticky Nuggs Hazy Imperial IPA Hazy Commitment IPA Wait what? That’s only four (five with H.A.Z.Y. IPA). Most breweries have at least 42. OK, that said I am sure they have more than that, and here’s what they say about H.A.Z.Y. IPA. We endowed this straight up juice bomb with a double dry hop of Mosaic, Citra, El Dorado and Azacca for a blast of mango, stone fruit, lime and pine. It’s not a mirage, but a tasty refreshing oasis in your pursuit of haziness. Malt Bill: 2 Row, Wheat, Oats Hops: Mosaic, Citra, El Dorado, Azacca Dry Hop: Mosaic, Citra, El Dorado, Azacca, Simcoe Sweetwater H.A.Z.Y. IPA has an alcohol content of 6.2% by volume with 45 IBUs. I paid $2 for my pint can, which works out to about 13 cents an ounce. That’s less than the 14 cents an ounce ($9.99 total) you will pay for a six pack at Total Wine. If you really like the beer, you can get a 12-pack of cans for $14.99, a very good deal, about 10 cents an ounce. My can is stamped 06/24/21, the suggested best by date. Sweetwater H.A.Z.Y. IPA pours to a hazy yellow orange color with a thick fluffy white head and a dynamite nose of orange pulp and zest. Taking a sip, the beer is medium in body and super juicy, with orange and mango notes, grapefruit zest and a hint of pine. I love the long lasting minty-herbal-grassy bitter finish kiss, too Super juicy, super groovy juice bomb it is! Would I buy it again? I already did, at the very next trip to the gas station. And remember, try a new beer today, and drink outside the box. *Pricing data accurate at time of review or latest update. For reference only, based on actual price paid by reviewer.
