Future Mind Porter

So, I’m drinking a mug of Steady Hand Future Mind Porter at Taco Mac. And of course, drinking at Taco Mac isn’t unusual for me. Tonight, though, I’m at the location I frequent second most, in Alpharetta. I’m having a few beers with friends from work (my office is right around the corner actually), and while I do, I’m enjoying this tasty porter. Steady Hand is located in Atlanta. I first tasted their beer when they were contract brewing, but I’m eager to visit them now that they have a brewery of their own.

They say about Future Mind Porter:

Our Porter pours deep black over Ruby color with a medium-rich body. Aromas of cocoa, toasty malts, and fresh espresso round out flavors of dark chocolate and dark fruits that emerge for a smooth finish.

Steady Hand Future Mind Porter has an alcohol content of 6% by volume with 30 IBUs. I paid $7.51 for a 23-ounce mug at Taco Mac and it runs $11.99 a six-pack in cans.

My mug of Steady Hand Future Mind Porter arrived jet-black in color with a medium sized head of loosely packed tan bubbles and an inviting roasty nose. Taking a sip, the beer is medium in body appropriate to the style. It’s pleasantly roasty yet smooth and drinkable with cocoa, coffee and a permeating grassy hop aroma. The beer finishes with a balancing roastiness and hop bitterness.

Quite tasty indeed, I’m glad I ordered Steady Hand Future Mond Porter. It’s a solid 4-star effort, though I think a bit pricier than most, so half a star demerit for that.

Glad I tried it?  T

Would I rebuy it??
