Stats Brewpub Torator Doppelbock
Review Date 6/8/2024 By John Staradumsky
As I type, it is one week before Father’s Day. The plan this year is to go downtown to Der Biergarten and enjoy some German food and of course, German beer. As I do, I am thinking back on Father’s Day 2022 when I enjoyed a half liter of the delicious Torator Doppelbock by Stats Brewpub, which is about a block from Der Biergarten. I actually had the beer at Der Biergarten, along with a plate of delicious Wursts and hot German Potato Salad.
From my notes, I know that the beer has an alcohol content of 8.4& by volume and I paid $8 for a half liter.
Stats Brewpub Torator Doppelbock pours to a deep mahogany color with a light head of foam and a luscious malty nose. Taking a sip the beer is medium to full in body with deep-seated toasty nutty Munich malt melanoidins. It bursts with the nutty notes, and finishes gently (but not overly) sweet and warming.
If they have this again next week, you know I’m going to be all over it.
Glad I tried it? T
Would I rebuy it??
