Berserker Mode Coffee Stout
Review Date 6/12/2024 By John Staradumsky
Stay out of my way! I’m in berserker mode! I just drank a Southern Prohibition Berserker Mode Coffee Stout after all. Maybe it’s the caffeine that put me over the top, but boy was this beer really good. Berserker mode is a gaming term where you basically just, well, go berserk and attack your enemies.
Not much information on this beer on the brewery website. It is listed under seasonal brews, so it is not a year round offering. Apparently there has been a Berserker Mode Coffee Baltic Porter released in the past. The website lists an alcohol content of 8% by volume though my can says 8.5%. It is brewed with Grin Coffee which, like Southern Prohibition, is located in Hattiesburg.
I bought my can of Southern Prohibition Berserker Mode Coffee Stout at the Woodstock Beer Market in May, though it is stamped CANNED BY LURK 10/02/23. Thanks Lurk! I paid $2.50 for my single, which seemed very reasonable. This is the only pricing information I have, and I don’t list pricing off singles, so there you go.
Southern Prohibition Berserker Mode Coffee Stout pours to a jet-black color with a thick creamy tan head and a nose of roasty black coffee and coffee grinds. Taking a sip, the beer is medium to full in body, quite roasty indeed with a hint of caramel and more of the coffee grinds the nose promised. I love the touch of caramel and the way the coffee really pops here. Finishes dark roasty and dry.
Delicious indeed, if I see it in six-packs, I am going to pick one up.
Glad I tried it?

Would I rebuy it??
