Smuttynose Winter Porter

Smuttynose Brewing Company, Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

I was thinking that this would be the second year in a row I would miss out on this beer, as it seems to be rather scarce even in my Massachusetts beer hunts, until a friend gave me a bottle last week. Very attractive label features father time and the baby new year. Deep black color, thick creamy head formation, rich roasty nose. Delightful roasty palate, strong hints of licorice, chocolate, espresso. Fantastic roasty bitterness in the finsh. A big, bold, delightful porter, bordering on a stout and perfect for winter. This seasonal is part of the Smuttynose Big Beer series sold only in 22oz. bottles, and that's a very good thing: you'll definitely want more than 12 ounces of this beer.

Glad I tried it?  T

Would I rebuy it??
