Dogs Gone Wild 2025

Review Date 4/6/2026 By John Staradumsky
They had me at dogs. I was at the Schoolhouse brewery in Marietta, Georgia, and they had me at dogs. I was on a birthday brewery crawl with my sons, and I was enjoying a few beers here, the first of which was Earned Not Given Black IPA. While browsing the draft menu, I noticed Dogs Gone Wild 2025, a German-style Kölsch. .
I thought about ordering a pint at the brewery, but they also had it in 4-packs, so I decided to take some home instead. I popped one open on a warm afternoon in late March, out on the patio. It was a perfect beer for a sunny day.
Schoolhouse releases a Dogs Gone Wild beer every year, and proceeds go to benefit the Homeless Pets Foundation. In early November, the brewery hosts a Dogs Gone Wild event, and for $30, you can have your dog photographed, said photo to appear on the label when the beer is released, and get one included beer and a commemorative glass. That label is pretty darned cool indeed.
Schoolhouse says:
Grab your leash, your favorite pint glass, and your furry friend…every donation helps local rescue dogs find their forever homes. A chance to grab your own commemorative glass, poster, or case of beer featuring your dog.
Somehow, I was not aware of this event last November, but I will be on the lookout for the date this coming year. I absolutely love dogs, and as my mother used to say, the more I get to know people, the more I love dogs.
PLEASE HELP!
This morning after taking my own dog Heidi (that’s her in the photo with the stolen beer can in her mouth) out to do her business, I was listening to local radio, WSB in Atlanta, when they announced that the Fulton County animal shelter needed urgent help. They have 415 dogs currently, well over their target maximum of 375. I cannot adopt another dog (we got Heidi from the Cherokee County Animal Shelter), but I did make a donation online.
I drop off treats and food at the Cherokee location often, but this was the first time I have given to Fulton County. It will not be the last. If you can, please donate on their website by clicking this link. You can give cash or, via their Amazon Wishlist, food, treats, toys, or supplies. If you live close by and can adopt or foster, even better.
After making my donation this morning, I realized I had not yet posted a review of Dogs Gone Wild 2025, so here I am. The beer has an alcohol content of 5% by volume and I paid $17 for my four pack of pint cans.
Schoolhouse Dogs Gone Wild pours to a pale golden color with a thick fluffy white head and a nose of fresh bready Malt. Taking a sip the beer is again fresh bready as the nose promised. It’s crisp and refreshing with a hint of fruit and quickly pops with an herbal grassy, lemony, long dry bitter finish.
Refreshing and true to style if a little hoppier than usual for a Kölsch, this is a delightful beer that earns extra credit for me for the great cause. You know I will buy this one again. After all, Heidi says she wants to be on the label next year.
Glad I tried it?

Would I rebuy it??
