Palmovka 12° Czech-Style Pilsner

Time for a reality Czech! Or, ummm, errr, a very authentic Czeck Pilsner that is in reality not a Czech Pilsner? That’s more like it! Because in reality, Schilling Palmovka 12° is a classic Czech-style Pilsner, but it’s brewed in New Hampshire, not the Czech Republic. That said, if someone told me it was brewed in Prague I would have no trouble believing them.

Schilling continues to impress me, and I have enjoyed every beer I have sampled from them. Schiilling does not list their beers on their website, but I found this about Palmovka 12° on Untappd, presumably they got this from Schilling:

Brewed with all Czech-sourced ingredients, adhering to a traditional Czech mash and decoction schedule. Notes of baked bread dominate. Rounded bitterness with a silky mouthfeel.

Schilling Palmovka 12° has an alcohol content of 5.5% by volume and I paid $6.49 for my can from Half Time Beverage. This is the only pricing information I have. My can had no freshness dating.

Schilling Palmovka 12° pours to a pale golden color with a thick fluffy white head and a nose of crisp biscuity malt. Taking a sip, I get more of that crisp biscuit malt exploding in my mouth, like chewing a fresh handful of malt straight from the kiln. It’s gently buttery, and wonderfully grassy bitter at the last. That bitterness lingers sharply on the tongue after sipping, leaving the beer to finish long and dry.

Excellent classic Czech Pils, a perfect starter beer for a Sunday night Patriots pre-season game.

Glad I tried it?  T

Would I rebuy it??
