Here's another beer from the Saranac Winter Wonderland Sampler 2013: Saranac Belgian Pale Ale.
Here’s what they say about it on the website:
Our Saranac Belgian Style Pale Ale is made with 2-row barley and traditional European malts. Brewed with a perfect balance of malt and hops, this is a "sessionable" Belgian style ale. Look for a light amber color and a distinctive fruitiness from the Belgian yeast used in fermentation. Consumed by Belgians as an "everyday" beer, this style will quickly become your winter go-to!
Saranac Belgian Pale Ale has an alcohol content of 5.4% by volume. I paid $13.99 for the winter sampler 12-pack in which I got two bottles of this beer. There is a best by date of March 2014 on the neck.
Saranac Belgian Pale Ale pours to a beautiful golden color with a thick head of loosely packed bubbles and a soft malt and lightly funky nose. The beer has a light caramel maltiness up front, subtle yeasty funk and spices hinting at coriander perhaps. Finishes slightly hoppy bitter and spicy dry. Quite tasty!
And remember, try a new beer today, and drink outside the box.
