Samuel Adams Tropical Wheat Ale

It’s here! The 2022 Samuel Adams Summer Squeeze Variety Pack. I must confesss that I have not purchased a summer 12-pack from Boston Beer in a while, I think, but this year it called out to me. Sam says about the sampler:

SO MANY SAMS, SO LITTLE SUMMER

This season's variety pack has four, full-flavored, easy-drinking beers you’d want to bring on whatever impromptu summer shenanigans you get up to. They're only available for a limited time, so get them while it's hot.

The beers included are three bottles each of:

·       Samuel Adams Porch Rocker

·       Samuel Adams Summer Ale

·       Samuel Adams Beach Session IPA

·       Samuel Adams Tropical Wheat Ale

Samuel Adams Porch Rocker and Summer Ale are old favorites, so those immediately helped to seal the deal. Beach Session IPA is a returning brew, though one I have somehow missed in years past. Samuel Adams Tropical Wheat Ale, the beer I am here to consider today, is a brand-new beer only available (for now at least) in the 12-pack.

Sam says about this beer on their website:

Tropical wheat bursting with fruit notes like mango and guava with a bright citrus character that makes you want another sip.

And on the bottle label:

Summer is brief, so savor every moment in the sun with this easy-drinking wheat ale. With tropical bursts of mango and guava and a bright citrus aroma. Each sip this brew is as refreshing as a two week vacation.

Samuel Adams Tropical Wheat Ale has an alcohol content of 5% by volume with 25 IBUs. I paid $17.09 for my 12-pack at Target but saw it at Publix for $15.99. I should have bought it there and saved a buck. My bottles are notched best by October.

Samuel Adams Tropical Wheat Ale pours to a brilliant golden color with a medium sized head of creamy foam and a luscious nose of mango and passion fruit. Taking a sip, the beer is crisp wheaty up front, crackery, and packed with refreshing tropical fruit notes of mango and passion fruit. A bit of citrus pkes through, and it all finishes balanced and refreshing with a gently bitter finish.

A great beach beer I think, but I enjoyed it on my patio on a warm May evening.

Glad I tried it?  T

Would I rebuy it??
