Well hello there, Round Trip Brewing of Atlanta, Georgia. You just got my attention. First, you did this with your tasty Dunkel Platz Munich Dunkel style lager. I saw this on tap recently at Taco mac, so of course I ordered up a mug. I was not disappointed. Next, you seized my focus when I visited your website and saw you specialize in typical and üntypical German-style beer. You had me at German beer.

In addition to their Munich Dunkel I tried, Round Trip makes a Hefeweizen, a German-style Pilsner, a Kolsch, a Helles, an Oktoberfest Marzen, and in the üntypisch category, am IPA Hefeweizen hybrid. Any chance of a Doppelbock or Rauchbier? We will be watching for those. Hey, they’ve only been open since 2021. Gotta give them time.

Round Trip Dunkel Platz Munich Dunkel has an alcohol content of 5% by volume with 18 IBUs and I paid $7.51 for a 23-ounce draft mug at Taco Mac. Dunkel Platz is German for dark place. I was not ina dark place while drinking this delicious beer.

Round Trip says:

Hello Darkness, my old friend

Strong malty backbone balanced with German noble hops

Munich-style Dark Lager

And I say:

My mug of Round Trip Dunkel Platz arrived dark brownish black in color with a moderate head of tan foam and a nose of coffee and chocolate chip cookies. Taking a sip, the beer is medium in body and again coffeeish and chocolaty with molasses notes and spicy with grassy herbal hops in the finish.

Round Trip, I’m a fan of your Dunkel Platz, and as I prepare for my annual birthday pub crawl in a few months, you just made the first stop on the list.

Glad I tried it?  T

Would I rebuy it??
