Repo Man Rye Stout
Review Date 6/30/2024 By John Staradumsky
Words no one had probably ever uttered: “Hey there Repo Man! Boy am I glad to see you!”. Well, up until now anyway, and as long as the Repo Man in question is a Repo Man Rye Stout from Chicago’s Revolution Brewing Company, then this is one Repo Man I am indeed glad swung by.
Revolution says:
A dark, roasty Rye Stout with a luminously smooth texture returns from the early days of Revolution. Brewed for those who spend their lives getting into tense situations.
Revolution Repo Man Rye Stout has an alcohol content of 6.4% by volume and I paid $2.99 for my can from Half Time Beverage. Total Wine sells it for $10.99 a six-pack in their Greenwood, Indiana store. Trvolution beers tend to be expensive, so this is a very reasonable price indeed. My can was stamped FILLED 02/08/24 on the bottom, and I drank it on June 23rd.
Revolution Repo Man Rye Stout pours to a black (but not opaque) color with a moderate head of tan foam and a nose of dark roasted malts. Taking a sip the beer is medium in body and smooth and silky in mouthfeel. It’s not short on flavor, either, as there is an intense roastiness, licorice, dark chocolate, coffee notes. and spicy rye all immediately present. The beer finishes dry roasty and balanced with spicy rye to boot.
Very tasty indeed, but I suggest you hurry up and get some. I understand this is not a continuous offering, so who knows. Revolution could repo it at any time.
Glad I tried it? T
Would I rebuy it??
