Better make room in your beer fridge, beer lover. The Red Hare Brewing Company of Marietta, Georgia has added a new beer to its lineup. Red Hare Cotton Tail Pale Ale is the newest year-round beer the company has to offer, and joins three other regular releases Red Hare Long Day Lager, Red Hare Gangway IPA and Red Hare Watership Brown Ale.

All 4 of these beers are now available in convenient six-packs of cans and on draft, but don’t look for bottles. Red Hare does not bottle its beer. Red Hare offers special releases too, of course, in its Rabbit’s Reserve series, but these four beers are perfect for everyday drinking and I like to have some on hand at all times.

Red Hare says this of Cotton Tail Pale Ale:

Zythos hops scent this ale with a refreshing citrusy aroma which translates into floral, orange notes on the tongue. A sweet malty backbone balances the slight bitterness of the hop profile making this a refreshing brew with a clean finish- the perfect companion for any activity!

I enjoyed a fresh mug of Red Hare Cotton Tail Pale Ale on tap at Taco Mac Prado in Sandy Springs, Georgia. The 5.5% ABV beer has 37 IBUs and I paid a reasonable $5.75 for my draft serving. You can get six-packs for around $8.49 locally.

Red Hare Cotton Tail Pale Ale pours to a beautiful orange amber color with a thick creamy head and notes of soft pear and citrus fruit in the nose. Taking a sip, I get medium caramel malt up front, with apple and pear yeast fruitiness, light citrus, and a balancing hop bitterness. Really, this is a textbook example of what a pale ale should be, and a beer I can’t recommend enough.
