Hey Red Brick Brewing of Atlanta, Georgia! You’re late to the party with your Zest in Show Saison Brewed with Citrus Peel. I say that because this is a new June through September seasonal, but I only saw it pop up here in Canton in early October. First in cans at Target, and then on tap at Taco Mac where I’m enjoying it right now.
Red Brick, of course, can never be accused of being late to the Georgia craft beer party. They are the oldest operating craft brewer in The Peach State after all. So, there is that. I definitely enjoyed their Zest in Show Saison in mid-October on a warm Thursday evening.
From the website:
Our newest seasonal is a classic farmhouse style with a citrus twist. Zesty and bright with a bit of tartness, this brew features lemon drop, nugget, and crystal hops.
Red Brick Zest in Show Saison Brewed with Citrus Peel has an alcohol content of 5.5% by volume with 31 IBUs. I paid $5.75 for a 23-ounce mug at Taco Mac and it sells for $9.49 a six-pack in cans at Target.
My mug of Red Brick Zest in Show Saison Brewed with Citrus Peel arrived a bright slightly pale golden color with a light creamy head and a zesty citrus and spice nose. Taking a sip I get smooth malt and tart wheat, pepper corns, lemon zest and a spicy dry finish.
A very nice, refreshing beer with lots of citrusy goodness, brewed with lemon and tangerine peel and lemon drop hops according to Taco Mac. Next year I would like to catch it earlier in the season as this would make a perfect summer quencher, but it is very tasty in October, too.
And remember, try a new beer today, and drink outside the box.
