Here’s a beer you may not have tried yet(i), Abominable Snowman vs Unicorn Hazy IPA with Lactose and Cryo Hops from Pipeworks brewing. I do not know a lot about this beer since Pipeworks doesn’t list their beers on their rudimentary website. I can tell you that it is another entry in the Pipeworks …. Vs Unicorn series, of which I have so far tried Ninja vs Unicorn Double IPA and, last year, Rudolph vs Unicorn Peppermint Imperial Milk Stout.

Here's what Untapped says about the beer, which they no doubt got somewhere from Pipeworks:

The Abominable Snowman goes by many names... but The Unicorn knows him as "foe". This chilly, wintery season... tensions are heating up as The Unicorn faces off against a new formidable foe... The Abominable Snowman!

Lofty cryo hop aromas of candied orange, winter pine, and fresh honeydew melon burst out from these soft and hazy suds that are smoothed out with a touch of lactose.

Abominable Snowman vs Unicorn Hazy IPA with Lactose and Cryo Hops has an alcohol content of 7.6% by volume and I paid $16.99 for a 4-pck of pint cans at Total Wine. I still think that is a little pricey, but in all fairness it is not bad as these beers go today. My cans are stamped 10/31/24 on the bottom.

Abominable Snowman vs Unicorn Hazy IPA with Lactose and Cryo Hops pours to a hazy orange amber color with a thick fluffy white head and a nose of pure citrus orange and tangerine. Taking a sip, the beer is medium in body, about average for the style. The citrus is abundant with more of the tangerine and orange the nose promised. I get some tropical pineapple too, festive pine, and the lactose adds some soft snowy notes (the abominable!). I would like more bitterness in the finish, but this is balanced, and I like it.

Who wins? Pick some up and decide for yourself.

Glad I tried it?  T

Would I rebuy it??
