Tomato Factory Double Dry Hopped Imperial India Pale Ale
Review Date 11/27/2024 By John Staradumsky
I’m starting to feel like once you’ve had one Other Half double dry hopped double India Pale Ale, you’ve pretty much had them all! This was going through my head as I drank a can of their Tomato Factory Double Dry Hopped Imperial India Pale Ale. To be fair, each different Other Half beer inb this style is brewed with a different set of hops. Here, those hops are Citra, Riwaka, Sabro, and Vic Secret.
Not so long ago, I enjoyed my first sample of Other Half Broccoli Double Dry Hopped Imperial India Pale Ale. That one is brewed with Mosaic, Mosaic Cryo, Nelson Sauvin, Simcoe, Simcoe Cryo, and Strata. Not a common hop between the two beers, but they seemed quite similar to me. Perhaps a side by side is in order.
Other Half says:
An Imperial IPA brewed with a hand-selected blend of hops giving notes of creamy tropical fruits, dank passionfruit, and guava. A tribute to the original factory housed in our DC brewery.
Other Half Tomato Factory Double Dry Hopped Imperial India Pale Ale has an alcohol content of 8.5% by volume and I paid $8.49 for my pint can from Half Time. Total Wine sells ity for $21.99 a 4-pack in West Orange, New Jersey. My can was stamped 09.13.24 on the bottom.
Other Half Tomato Factory Double Dry Hopped Imperial India Pale Ale pours to a hazy orange color with a thick fluffy white head and a nose of tangerine and orange juicy goodness. Taking a sip, the beer is medium in body, about average for the style. It’s pasty with oats, juicy with tangerine and orange flesh and rind, and minty herbal with hops at the last. A gentle bitterness balances the beer nicely. Pretty formulaic though, Still I would drink it again.
Other Half is a tickers delight, to be sure, but their beers are tasty indeed.
Glad I tried it? T
Would I rebuy it??
