Well, friends, I just got finished telling you about the fourth IPA I’ve enjoyed from Lafayette, Colorado’s Odd13 brewery, and lo and behold, I’m back with tales of a fifth. I mused then that the brewery might someday have 13 odd IPAs or so, half-jokingly, but it now seems like they may do just that.

Anyway, today’s IPA is Odd13 Thirdeen Cent India Pale Ale. It’s tied with Bad Guy with an Agenda as the strongest IPA I’ve had from Odd13, although none quite approaches the strength of a double/imperial IPA. The difference is that Thirdeen Cent IPA is hopped exclusively with Centennials.

Thirdeen Cent is an IPA with Centennial hops that was initially brewed as a celebration of our 100th batch. It was too good not to bring back in our rotating IPA series. The Centennial imparts an intensely fruity citrus character.

Odd13 Thirdeen Cent India Pale Ale has an alcohol content of 7.5% by volume with 60 IBUs. It is brewed irregularly according to Odd13. My can was packaged on July 8^th of 2016; I drank it on October 3^rd.

Odd13 Thirdeen Cent India Pale Ale pours to a hazy orange color with a medium head of foam and a bold pine and resin nose. Taking a sip, the beer has a firm caramel matinees followed by a permeating earthy hop aroma, bright citrus and heavy pine tar resin and bitter grapefruit peel. A very long, very dry bitter finish lingers on the tongue after sipping.

Each of the five IPAs I’ve enjoyed from Odd13 are different and unique, idiosyncratic and delightful. Odd13 Thirdeen Cent India Pale Ale is no exception, and I’m very much looking forward to the next beer from this brewer I’ll try. They’ve all been wonderful so far.
