Hey there New Image Brewing of Arvada, Colorado! We have a lot in common. I’m a transplanted New Englander, and sounds like you guys are, too, if your East Coast Transplant IPA is any indication. You do call it a throwback to our roots and a celebration of our migration to Colorado. Nice! I’m a transplant from Rhode Island to Georgia myself and-wow! You guys brewed beer in Atlanta before going to Colorado. See what I mean? Hope you’re still Pats fans!
Anyway, it’s the New Image Moped Blood Orange Witbier I’m here to talk about today. It’s not listed on the brewery website, but I got a can from my good buddy Dale Roberts from out there in Colorado.
From the label:
Admit it. You shy away from easy drinking beers because you think people will make fun of you for not having the barrel-aged Belgian quad with juniper berries and Bolivian cacao nibs. Instead of protecting your ego, just have a little fun. Ride that tiny moped proudly, wear that “Physics Bowl Champion” t-shirt you earned in high school. Drink this blood orange witbier because you want to. A ride on our Moped is nothing to be embarrassed about. Unless you aren’t wearing pants, and we have no control over that.
New Image Moped Blood Orange Witbier has an alcohol content of 5% by volume.
New Image Moped Blood Orange Witbier pours to a, well, cloudy yellow-orange color and looks a lot like a glass of orange juice. The head is medium in size and the nose spicy with coriander and juicy with citrus. Taking a sip, the beer is tart wheaty up front with drying coriander spice and bold citrusy orange. The citrus is a bit bolder than in a traditional wit, which has orange peel of course, usually Curacao.
Refreshing indeed! I’ll take a ride on this Moped anytime.
And remember, try a new beer today, and drink outside the box.
