New Belgium beers are featured as Beers of the Month at Taco Mac! The first Thursday night of the month fell on February 1st, and I enjoyed a Fat Tire Amber because, well, I like that beer even though some beer geeks like to slam it. Week two found me having another…wait a minute! I was about to say another Tartastic Lemon Ginger Sour Ale, but that’s not it at all. Yes, I’m having a Tartastic, but this time it’s New Belgium Tartastic Raspberry Lime Ale.
I’ll confess that, as much as I try to keep on top of things in the beer world, that is becoming increasingly difficult to do. I will abashedly confess that I was unaware of additional Tartastic ales beyond the Lemon Ginger Sour, and now I hear that there’s a Strawberry Lemon one too. Oh the pain! The pain!
New Belgium says:

New Belgium Tartastic Raspberry Lime Ale has an alcohol content of .2% by volume with 8 IBUs. I paid a very reasonable $5.75 for a 23-ounce mug at Tao Mac and that came with a free glass. It runs $9.49 a six-pack in bottles at Total Wine.
My mug of New Belgium Tartastic Raspberry Lime Ale arrived a pinkish red in color with a medium sized head of light pink frothy foam. A hint of berry and a lot of lime poke out in the nose, and sipping delivers a puckering tartness in the palate with creamy raspberry notes and tart citrusy lime. The finish is sour (though not as sour as the first Tartastic) and refreshing, and the berry pops up for a final appearance here, too.
Very tasty and refreshing, I like the price and I love the low alcohol content that lets you enjoy more of this beer if you so desire. As fruit beers go, this one is certainly a winner in my book.
And remember, try a new beer today, and drink outside the box.
