From Maumee Bay Brewing, a brewpub/micro in Toledo Ohio. The beer is named for Major William Oliver, a veteran of the War of 1812 who supposedly haunts the building the brewery is located in. The beer comes in a beautiful painted label bottle, and pours to a brilliant ruby red color. A very impressive head forms quickly , retention is very good. The nose is very fruity, the palate crisp and malty with hint of citric character and an abundant apple-pear fruitiness. The finish is well balanced between hop and malt. A delicious, impressive brew.
And remember, try a new beer today, and drink outside the box.
