Juice Lord

Juice Lord! Lord Hobo Juice Lord! Now there’s a beer I have been looking for for a long time, and I finally got a can from Half Time Beverage. Lord Hobo is located in Woburn, Massachusetts, just north of Boston. I myself was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, but lived for the first 5 years of my life in South Attleboro, Massachusetts. That is just over the Rhode Island state line, and my parent bought a house in West Warwick, RI, in 1969. In due time, I cut my teeth on New England beer-and there is still a special place in my heart for it to this day.

Hence, Lord Hobo beer. Juice Lord is their flagship hazy New England IPA, and what’s better than a hazy New England IPA from New England?

Lord Hobo says:

We never settle here at Lord Hobo, and Juice Lord is no exception - this isn't just any other IPA. We've crafted a majestic IPA that expresses all of the best qualities of the style. Boasting huge melon and citrus notes that burst from the can as soon as it's cracked. Prepare for a juice-soaked journey through IPA bliss.

Pillowy oats and our house pilsner malt combine to provide a silky smooth canvas upon which we've painted a juicy and fruity master- piece.

On the can, they make note of this being New England Born & Brewed. And while there are a lot of New England IPAs these days (every brewery seems to have 11 of them), I think the one from New England are special. I may be biased. There you go.

Ingredients from the website:

HOPS: MERIDIAN, HUELL MELON, GALAXY, AZACCA

MALTS: PILSNER, PLANET, RED WHEAT, SPELT, OAT MALT, FLAKED OATS

Lord Hobo Juice Lord has an alcohol content of 6% by volume. I paid $4.99 for a pint can from Half Time beverage, and you can get those cans in a 4-pack from Total Wine for $13.99 in New England. A better deal still there is a 12-pack of 12-ounce cans for just $15.99. I would be all over that. My can is stamped CANNED ON 12/08/21 and I drank it on June 30th of 2022. A little long in the tooth when I got it from Half Time, and I drank it right away, but none the worse for the wear.

Lord Hobo Juice Lord pours to a hazy orange yellow color with a thick fluffy head and a nose of citrusy grapefruit rind. Taking a sip, the beer is medium in body and super juicy with notes of grapefruit pith and peel, orange juice, and lemon zest. There’s a balanced finish but could use more bitterness for me, I think.

Would I buy it again? I would, and I will.

Glad I tried it?  T

Would I rebuy it??
