For those of you that don’t know, I live in Georgia. Georgia is also known as The Peach State, though as far as I know, there aren’t a lot of peach beers brewed here. Terrapin does a peach saison, but that’s the only one that I can really think of. No worries though! Lone Tree Brewing of Lone Tree, Colorado to the rescue with Lone Tree Peach Pale Ale or LTB Peach pale Ale as it appears on the can.
Lone Tree beers are not sold in Georgia, and as far as I can tell they are not sold outside of Colorado. Our own Dale Roberts, however, was kind enough to send me a can of this tasty fruit beer. The brewery doesn’t say a lot about Lone Tree Peach Pale Ale on their website, but they do say that it’s brewed with peach puree, has an alcohol content of 5.7% by volume and 40 IBUs.
Here’s what I say.
Lone Tree Brewing Peach Pale Ale pours to a bright orange color with a very thick and pillowy head of loosely packed white foam (and that on a gentle pour) and a soft peach fruit nose. Taking a sip, the beer has a solid firm maltiness with just a tad of caramel up front before the fruit kicks in. Fresh, luscious peach flavor quickly comes to the fore and defines the beer more than anything else. I get a bit of grassy hops balancing out at the last, and that keeps the beer nicely from finishing sweet.
I think I really popped this beer at just the right time. It was a warm autumn day of 65 degrees, and Lone Tree Brewing Peach Pale Ale beer really hit the spot after a bit of yard work. This was the first beer of the day and was very flavorful and immensely refreshing. Well done Lone Tree!
And remember, try a new beer today, and drink outside the box.
