This
has always been a favorite for me, a kriek (cherry beer) based on a brown
ale rather than a lambic. The bottle I'm drinking tonight is three years and
a bit old, bottled in 1995. The cherries dominate the nose with a sort of
cherry cordial character, in the palate they steal the show and finish with
a good bit of sourness. The underlying brown ale maltiness does
not seem as apparent as it has in younger tastings. This one has aged out
rather nicely.
And remember, try a new beer today, and drink outside the box.
