Left Hand Coconut Milk Stout

“You don’t like coconut? Say brainless, don’t you know where coconuts come from?”

So said a very young George Bailey to an equally juvenile Mary Hatch in the classic film, “It’s A Wonderful Life”, one of my all time favorite movies. No need to worry though, George, I have you covered. I simply adore coconut, and I’m getting my coconut fix today with a can of Left Hand Coconut Milk Stout.

Coconut and beer is a truly winning combination, though I must confess I am at times disappointed by beers that claim coconut as an ingredient, but fail to deliver it in the flavor profile. Such is not the case here, however, and I got plenty of coconut goodness throughout this tasty brew.

Left Hand says:

Delight in a taste of the tropics with our Coconut Milk Stout—a decadent twist on our award-winning Milk Stout. This rich and creamy stout combines notes of milk chocolate and roasted coffee with a burst of coconut that’s as comforting as it is indulgent. Perfect for those moments when you want to escape to a warmer place—no matter the season. So treat yourself to a little pint of paradise!

Left Hand Coconut Milk Stout has an alcohol content of 6% by volume and I paid $2.99 for a 12-ounce single at Total Wine. They were selling it for $12.99 a six-pack at the time. My can is stamped PACKAGED ON NOV 26 2024.

Left Hand Coconut Milk Stout pours to a jet-black color with a thick creamy tan head and a nose of chocolate pudding (but no coconut). Taking a sip, the beer is light to medium in body, smooth and chocolaty, and…bursting with coconut! It’s creamy from lactose, but there’s plenty of cool coconut flavor, too. The beer finishes slightly roasty and with more delightful coconut goodness.

A Mounds bar in a glass! I loved the coconut and chocolate coming together so perfectly in this one. You know I’m going to buy it again, and hey. Don’t be brainless. Run out and get some for yourself.

Glad I tried it?  T

Would I rebuy it??
