Super Lemonova Blonde Ale with Lemon Zest

It’s hot out there folks! I mean it’s August after all, and August is hot. That being the case, I was in the mood for something light and refreshing, and that’s just what I got with my can of Super Lemonova Blonde Ale with Lemon Zest from Vermont’s Lawson’s Finest Liquids. I have come to love Lawson’s since my very first sip of their delicious beer (which was a sip indeed: Sip of Sunshine).

Lawson’s beers are not sold in Georgia, but luckily they are carried by Hlaf Time Beverage, and I got my can of Super Lemonova there. Lawson’s says:

Super Lemonova is the first homebrew recipe from one of our talented brewers, Brian…. According to Brian, “this 5.1% is super light and super crushable. It’s made with American hops, a mix of American and German malts, and British yeast.”

Super Lemonova is an incredibly balanced blonde ale bursting with citrusy hop notes. The fruitiness is complemented by a subtle twist of tartness thanks to three additions of lemons. First, we add lemon to the boil then twice more in the bright tank. Each sip has a nice refreshing, dry, brisk finish.

I paid $5.49 for my pint can of Super Lemonova from Half Time. Total Wine sells it for $14.99 a 4-pack in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. My can was stamped CANNED 5/14/24 on the bottom.

Lawson’s Super Lemonova Blonde Ale with Lemon Zest pours to a hazy yellow color with a moderate sized cap of foam and a nose of strong lemony citrus. Taking a sip, the beer is medium in body, tasty with soft bready malt, complete with toasted crusts. The lemon pops quickly in all its zesty glory and resonates nicely against the bready malt. The beer finishes tart with lemon zest and grassy hops.

Very refreshing indeed, a perfect beer for summer, and one I would happily drink again.

Glad I tried it?  T

Would I rebuy it??
