Lawson's Fest Bier
Review Date 9/17/2024 By John Staradumsky
Lawson’s has a Festbier! If you didn’t already know, Lawson’s Finest Liquids of Waitsfield, Vermont is fast becoming one of my favorite breweries. I am addicted to their Sip of Sunshine India Pale Ale, but they make a number of other fine brews, and a Festbier is now one of them.
Hence, I give you Lawson’s Fest Bier. Styled after the modern German Oktoberfest lager served at the Munich beer halls during that great annual celebration, Lawson’s Fest Bier will have you standing on a table and belting out volksmusik in no time.
Lawson’s says:
This festive offering is inspired by the lagers served at Munich’s Oktoberfest. Toasty, biscuit notes from German malts are complemented by the earthy, floral tones of noble hops, making this a Prost-worthy pint with a finish as crisp as the Vermont air.
Lawson’s Fest Bier has an alcohol content of 5.3% by volume and I paid $5.49 for my pint can from Half Time. Total Wine selkls it for $13.49 a 4-pack for the same size cans in Norwalk, Connecticut. My sample was stamped CANNED ON 08/20/24.
Lawson’s Fest Bier pours to a deep golden-brown color with a thick fluffy white head and a nose of lightly toasted bread. Taking a sip, the beer is medium in body with a hint of caramel, then the toasted bread the nose offered returns and at the last the beer is balanced by a gentle grassy bitterness.
Most quaffable, and you know I will buy this again.
Glad I tried it? T
Would I rebuy it??
