Oberon Eclipse Raspberry Wheat

Have you had Bell’s Oberon Ale? It’s a tasty and refreshing American Wheat Beer. Even if you have, you haven’t, until you’ve had Oberon Eclipse, Oberon Ale with Citrus. Have you had Bell’s Oberon Eclipse? Even if you have, you haven’t, and I hadn’t either until I ordered up a mug of its latest incarnation, Bell’s Oberon Eclipse Raspberry Wheat.

I enjoyed this beer at my local Taco Mac, where it is featured as a beer of the month for January, 2026. Actually, two Bells beers and two New Belgium beers are the special releases. Bell’s Two Hearted Ale is the other Bell’s beer of the month, and I enjoyed a brimming mug of that earlier in January. Bells joined forces with New Belgium in 2021, when it was bought by Australia’s Lion brewery. Lion bought New Belgium in 2019. Does that make them New Bellsgium? I’d be Lion if I told you I knew for sure.

Bell’s says:

When the sun sets early, you've gotta make your own sunshine. Oberon Eclipse is a seasonal Raspberry Wheat Ale fermented with our signature house ale yeast. Subtle notes of bright raspberry complement the wheat malt, giving it the perfect balance. Easy-drinking and refreshing, it's the perfect beer for cozy nights spent in good company. Shine on Raspberry Ale with Natural Flavor.

Bell’s Oberon Eclipse Raspberry Wheat has an alcohol content of 5.8% Alc. by volume, and I paid $7.51 for a 23-ounce draft mug. I got a free New Belgium Fat Tire Ale glass with it. Total Wine sells it for $11.49 a six-pack, not a bad deal that. Taco Mac has brought back some old menu favorites this month, and I enjoyed their classic black bean and veggie quesadillas with my Oberon Eclipse Raspberry Wheat.

My mug of Bell’s Oberon Eclipse Raspberry Wheat arrived a hazy purple orange color with a thick fluffy white head and a nose of tart bright raspberry fruit. Taking a sip, the beer is full of crackery wheat frosted with bright raspberry fruit. It is both crisp fruity and wheaty again in the finish, where it is joined with a kiss of balancing bitter hops.

A very tasty fruit/wheat beer indeed, you could style it as either, but with the accent on the raspberry here I will style it as a fruit beer.

Glad I tried it?  T

Would I rebuy it??
