Garage Cherry Chocolate Milk Stout

Review Date 2/27/2021  By John Staradumsky

Oh! Oh! I got some more beer from Craftshack! And, I got some more beer from Garage Brewing Company of Temecula, California. I have enjoyed every beer I have tried from this brewery, and I have to say I’ve tried more than a few now. Tonight’s treat is a seasonal specialty called Garage Cherry Chocolate Milk Stout. I’m excited!

On the label, they officially call this beer Garage Cherry Chocolate Milk Stout with Dark Chocolate and Tart Cherry Flavors. They also say this:

This Milk Stout is a perfect way to end any meal or an evening of indulgence. No need to order dessert with this flavor combination.

Garage Cherry Chocolate Milk Stout has an alcohol content of 7.1% by volume with just 9 IBUs. I paid $4.49 for my 12-ounce can through Craftsahck, but you can get it for $6.99 the 22-ounce bottle at Total Wine in Temecula, California. My can was stamped BB 06/08/21, and when I peeled off the label it had a Garage Marshmallow Milk Stout label underneath.

Garage Cherry Chocolate Milk Stout pours to a jet-black color with a thick creamy tan head and a luscious cherry candy nose. Taking a sip, the beer is medium in body with rich notes of bittersweet dark chocolate and cocoa, wrapped around bright juicy black cherry fruit. The beer finishes balanced, gently roasty with more of the dark chocolate poking through and not at all sweet.

Garage Cherry Chocolate Milk Stout reminded me of a cherry wrapped in dark chocolate like the ones you enjoy at Christmas. It really is a tasty treat indeed, and one I will be on the lookout for again. How to style it? You could call it a milk stout and not be wrong at all, but I thought the cherry fruit popped here so nicely I will call it a fruit beer.

And remember, try a new beer today, and drink outside the box.
