Smooth Jazzmin' NY Pale Ale

Review Date 11/23/2024  By John Staradumsky

Here’s an interesting beer I found at Half Time Beverage: Fifth Hammer Smooth Jazzmin’, a brew that the brewery calls a “NY Pale Ale”. What really caught my attention on this one is that it is a collaboration brew with Samuel Adams, and hey, I love Sam Adams. I’ve also been impressed with each of the beers I have tried from Fifth Hammer, so there you go: no brainer!

I was unable to find the beer listed on the brewery website, but here’s the description from Half Time that reeled me in, doubtless obtained from Fifth Hammer:

We've teamed up with our good friends at a little brewery called Sam Adams to bring forth a truly unique and delicious NY state Pale Ale. The beer features NY State ingredients, including honey from Queens very own Astor Apiaries and is finished with a touch of jasmine tea. The resulting beer is clean, clear and dry with exceptional drinkability. Smooth indeed!

Fifth Hammer Smooth Jazzmin’ has an alcohol content of 6.8% by volume and I paid $6.99 for my pint can from Half Time. I have no other pricing information. The label of my can says it was Canned On 12/8/23. I bought it on June 23 of 2024 and drank it on November 10th, making it almost a year old. It held up quite well and I enjoyed it very much.

Fifth Hammer Smooth Jazzmin’ pours to a bright orange color with a thick rocky head and a nose of citrus fruits and earthy hops. Taking a sip the beer is medium in body with notes of candied orange peel, tangerine and in the finish a vigorous kiss of earthy herbal hop and tea character that leaves a long dry lingering bitterness.

I would absolutely drink this one again, if they repeat it.

Glad I tried it?  T

Would I rebuy it??
