Sugar Cookie Vanilla Pastry Ale
Review Date 12/15/2024 By John Staradumsky
Ho ho ho! The Ellicottville Brewing Company of Ellicottville, New York sells a Holiday Variety Pack! Good news! I didn’t get one, though, Bad news! I did get a can of their Sugar Cookie Vanilla Pastry Ale though! Good news! It’s always good to end on good news, so I am going to end with that. Not this review, friends. Just the paragraph.
Anyway, should you be fortunate enough to score the Variety pack, you will be rewarded with 3 bottles each of Salted Caramel Coldspresso Ale, Lloyd’s Christmas Ale Brewed with Ginger and Figs, Raspberry Truffle Ale, and the beer I got, the Sugar Cookie Ale. Lucky you!
I found my can of Sugar Cookie Vanilla Pastry Ale at Half Time Beverage, and if the notion of an ale fashioned after holiday cookies were not enticing enough, the festive label hooked me right in. Here’s what the brewery says about the beer:
After it's wonderful success as part of our Holiday variety pack, we present to you our first release of the Sugar Cookie Pasty Ale.
Ribbons of rich vanilla, creamy biscuit, and an aroma of fresh baked cookies, festively brewed for those who like sweet and savory ales.
An ale perfectly crafted to help you navigate the busy holiday season. Decorating the tree? Wrapping presents? There is nothing to worry about! We have you covered with this beverage to get you through it all.
Ellicottville Sugar Cookie Vanilla Pasty Ale has an alcohol content of 5.6% by volume and I paid $5.99 for my pint can from Half Time. This is the only pricing information that I have. My can was stamped 10/03/24 on the bottom.
Ellicottville Sugar Cookie Vanilla Pastry Ale pours to a pale blonde sugar cookie color with a light and fizzy short lived head and a nose of sweet cookie malt. Taking a sip the beer is light and biscuity, malty and cookie like. It hints at vanilla and sugar and really pulls off the sugar cookie theme. Finishes just sweet enough to remind you you’re drinking a cookie, but not so much to be cloying.
I really enjoyed this, and would love to drink it again.
Glad I tried it? T
Would I rebuy it??
