First beer ever (for me) from Colorado’s Elevation Brewing. I got it from my buddy Dale Roberts, because of course Elevation does not distribute to Georgia. The beer is called Little Mo’ Porter, and it’s a smooth and drinkable roasty porter.
Elevation says:
Named after one of our favorite ski runs at Monarch Mountain, Little Mo’ oozes aromas of chocolate, coffee and light floral hops. The palate hits with chocolate and coffee notes, balanced with a subtle bitterness. With a medium mouthfeel, the lingering sweetness from this malt forward beer will have you asking for just a Little Mo’!
Little Mo’ Porter has an alcohol content of 6% by volume with 37 IBUs.
Elevation Little Mo’ Porter pours to a dark brownish black color with a thick creamy head and a rich chocolaty nose. Taking a sip, the beer is smooth in the palate, roasty and chocolaty with a balancing roasty bitter finish.
They call this a robust porter but to me it sort of straddles the line between brown porter and robust porter. Be that as at may, you won’t find me asking for a little mo porter. I’ll be asking for a lot mo porter-when it’s Little Mo’ Porter.
And remember, try a new beer today, and drink outside the box.
