Hey there, Dry County Brewing of Kennesaw, Georgia! I got a bone to pick with you. See, I just tried your Juice County IPA at Taco Mac, and while I liked it a lot, I didn’t like paying $7 for an 11-ounce glass of the beer. Sure, it seems like this is a limited-edition specialty beer and all, and it’s not sold in cans that I have been able to determine. But here’s my beef. It’s a New England IPA, and New England IPAs are a dime a dozen these days. Every brewery seems to have one, and some have two or even three.
So, that’s the problem here. There are just too many available that are a better deal (I just had a full 23-ounce mug of Left Nut Hooch Shootin’ IPA for about 50 cents less the other day) and of the same quality.
OK, I’ll get off my soap box now. I can tell you that Dry County Juice County has an alcohol content of 7% by volume according to Taco Mac. My glass arrived bright orange amber in color, a little hazy, with a thick fluffy white head. Sniffing, I got big citrusy herbal notes in the nose, a medium malt body, orange citrusy zest in the palate, juicy tangerine flesh, and a dry bitter finish.
I did really enjoy this beer, and if it were released in cans at a better price I would certainly buy it again. As it is for now, keeping it real and considering the price, it’s a beer I’m glad I tried, but it’s not a beer I would rebuy.
And remember, try a new beer today, and drink outside the box.
