Now here's a beer you can sink your teeth into. This dark ruby
brew is thick and syrupy, weighing in at an impressive 1080 original gravity
with 8.5% alcohol by volume. A whiff of this beer tells you are in for a real
treat, the nose is packed with sweet maltiness reminiscent of molasses and
honey. The first sip is even better, lots of sticky sweet malt, molasses
again, hints of chocolate, pear, cotton candy. Nice alcohol warmth in the
finish, not a lot of hops. All in all, a really great doppelbock, one of the
best domestic versions I've tasted to date.
And remember, try a new beer today, and drink outside the box.
