Lucky Scars Wild IPA

Review Date 3/18/2020 By John Staradumsky

Here’s my second Lucky Scars beer and, as far as I know, the one that completes my collection: Lucky Scars Wild IPA. Lucky Scars beers are brewed by the Curahee Brewing Company of Franklin, North Carolina and Alpharetta, Georgia. Here’s what the brewery says about this one:

Brewed with a funky, tropical yeast formally known to be wild, this take on a hazy IPA is bursting with tropical and citrus fruit flavor. Brewed in honor of our military, we count our lucky scars for everything you've given us.

Lucky Scars Wild IPA has an alcohol content of 6.9% by volume. Total Wine sells it for $10.99 a six-pack.

Lucky Scars Wild IPA pours to a hazy orange color with a moderate creamy head of foam and a subtle citrusy nose. Taking a sip, the beer has a medium maltiness in the palate, more citrusy Lemon notes with ripe melon and a dry rather bitter hop finish. Not getting the wild notes here, but this is a tasty citrusy hazy IPA all the same.

And remember, try a new beer today, and drink outside the box.
