Fall Festbier

Creature Comforts has a Festbier! Yes they do! It’s called Fall, and I tried my first can sitting out on the patio the other night. Creature Comforts of Athens, Georgia is best known for their IPAs, and I will confess my experience with their lagers has been hot or miss. I was less than impressed with their Long Haul Doppelbock, though I will be the first to admit I have exacting standards for the style. It is my favorite after all.

More recently, I very much enjoyed their Another Please! Altbier on tap at Taco Mac. Have not reviewed it yet. Need to fix that. It was delicious. Anyway, about their Fall Festbier Creature Comforts says:

Prost! Fall is our cheers to Oktoberfest and one of the best seasons for beer. A toasty malt character and light hop expression make this golden Lager a comfortable companion for the crisp, cool days ahead.

Festbiers are somewhere between a bready Munich Helles and a chewy Vienna Märzen. I think this one leans a little to the latter. It has an alcohol content of 6% by volume and was running $10.49 a six-pack when I bought my single at Total Wine, a good price these days. My can was stamped 07/22/25 and 11/22/25 on the bottom. Kept refrigerated, I think it could go longer.

Creature Comforts Fall Festbier pours to a brilliant golden amber color with a thick fluffy white head and a nose of delightfully bready, toasty nutty malts. Taking a sip, the beer is medium in body, just right for the style. It’s more a Märzen to me than a Festbier, bursting with rich chewy toasty nutty goodness. The beer finishes balanced with grassy Noble hops and is eminently drinkable.

I will definitely buy this one again. Hopefully on tap at Taco Mac.

 Glad I tried it?  T

Would I rebuy it??
