Not so much a review as a recollection, I recall drinking Schmidt's Classic beer back in the very early 80s. According to the July, 1983 issue of All About Beer magazine, Schmidt's classic was rolled out in April of 1982 in the brewery's native Philadelphia market. It was rolled out in New England and much of the Atlantic seaboard in mid-1983, and I remember drinking it in that year. I can still recall pulling a six-pack of the beer out of a cooler and sharing with with friends. By today's standards, this would be just a step above a macro lager, but it did have more malt and hops than were common for the time.
And remember, try a new beer today, and drink outside the box.
