It appears you can
take the Belgian out of Belgium, but you can’t take Belgium out of the
Belgian. Pierre Celis has done it again! Celis Dubbel is a rich, malty,
yeasty brew. Reminds me of a good Belgian (style) dubbel, La
Trappe or the like. Upon my first sip I was firmly convinced that I was
drinking a true Trappist brew. The richness of this beer would lend it to be
a fine accompaniment to varied cuisine, even dessert. Such a strong,
fortifying beer as this would seem to allay the fears of those who suspect
Miller’s acquisition of Celis might result in a blandification of the Celis
line.
And remember, try a new beer today, and drink outside the box.
