Regatta Golden Ale

Review Date 12/25/1999  By John Staradumsky

I stopped in here for food and beer while Christmas shopping in December of 1999. My main reason for coming was the beer, and since this is a brewpub, the beer is very important and what I will focus on. Nice atmosphere to the place, it's adjacent to a shopping mall in Kendall Square. I ordered a sampler of each beer they had on (seven at the time). You can get a sampler of a minimum of four beers up to one of each they have on. First up was Regatta Golden, this is the typical light offering, subtle malt, very drinkable, not much hops in the finish.

Had dinner here as well (of course), went with Jambalaya. Plenty of green and red peppers and onions (I love onions), a huge piece of Andouille sausage, chicken, and shrimp. Not as spicy as I would have liked but still good, my only complaint was that the rice texture seemed to be more akin to instant than fresh steamed.

Glad I tried it?  T

Would I rebuy it??
