Das Bronx Oktoberfest

Does The Bronx Brewery make a bad beer? If so, I’ve never had it. I keep coming back to these guys for more, because every beer I try from them impresses, and that tend continued with Das Bronx Oktoberfest. I bought this from Half Time Beverage, where I found the following description:

This crisp, lightly hopped and super-toasty Oktoberfest-style lager puts a Bronx spin on a classic. Light copper in color, Das Bronx opens with a hit of caramel sweetness that’s followed closely by a bready, toasty second wave. An ultra-light floral hop character with subtle bitterness brings it all home, making for a crispy, clean and complex Oktoberfest.

Of course, there are really two styles of Oktoberfest beer, the classic Märzen lager, malty and toasty nutty, and the modern Festbier, which is very bready and much lighter like a Helles but generally still has a hint of toasted malts. If you are looking to try the former, my favorite is Paulaner Oktoberfest Märzen; Höfbräu München Oktoberfest is an excellent example of the latter. Das Bronx Oktoberfest falls somewhere in between, but leans more towards the Märzen style I think.

Das Bronx Oktoberfest has an alcohol content of 5.9% by volume and I paid $6.49 for my pint can from Half Time. Total Wine sells it for $13.99 a 4-pack in West Orange, New Jersey, though they are out of stock as I type. My can is stamped BATCH A 2025.

Total Wine lists these ingredients:

GRAIN BILL: Pilsner Malt, Munich Malt, Vienna Malt

HOP BILL: Northern Brewer, Tetnanger

Das Bronx Oktoberfest pours to a brilliant copper color with an inviting toasty nutty nose and a moderate amount of head. Taking a sip the beer is medium in body with light caramel, toasted bread, and dry roasted nuts. It finishes with a gently balancing hop bitterness.

I loved the toasty nutty Munich and Vienna malt flavors here. I think you will too.

 Glad I tried it?  T

Would I rebuy it??
