Boulevard Cinnamon Bun Ale

Boulevard Brewery

Review by John Staradumsky • June 28th, 2026

As I continue to work through my stash of beers, which I don't know if I will ever wholly get through, I continue to find some drain pours, and some very nice surprises. The pint can of Boulevard Cinnamon Bun Ale I came across definitely fits into the nice surprise category, as it was a real treat with about 4 years of age on it, a true cinnamon bun in a glass.

I don't see that Boulevard has a listing for it any longer.

Ingredients listed on the Craftshack description, which I am sure came from Boulevard:

Malts: Pale, Cara 300, Crystal Dark, Oats, Maris Otter, Wheat

Hops: Bravo

Adjuncts: Brown Sugar, Cinnamon Bun Spices

Craftshack  actually still has Boulevard Cinnamon Bun Ale listed for sale, so somebody somewhere must still have it, although I cannot tell you the last time Boulevard made it. I will say, I hope they make it again. The beer has an alcohol content of 9.5% by volume and my can is stamped 04SEP2022. The label I peeled off to scan into my PC was wrapped around a Phantom Haze Can.

Tasting Notes

Boulevard Cinnamon Bun Ale pours to a murky dark brown color with a thick fluffy tan head and a nose of sweet brown sugar and spicy cinnamon. Taking a sip, the beer is thick and full with doughy, caramel malty notes up front, smooth but subtle vanilla, a hint of dark fruity raisin, then hits with a load of sweet brown sugar. Bright cinnamon leaps to the fore and dries the beer in the finish, which still ends quite sweet. Perhaps overly sweet, but it is a sticky bun themed beer after all.

Value & Verdict

I bought my can from Craft Shack in April of 2022, and I paid $4.99 for it. A coupon brought it down to about $2.50, but then shipping put it back up to about five bucks again.

This beer fared well with a few years of age on it, and I would as I mentioned love to see it back again.

Buy It Again? Yes, I would.
