Reward American Pale Ale
Review Date 8/2/2024 By John Staradumsky
See, I had worked really hard that day, and I deserved a reward. I thought so anyway. That being the case, I popped open a can of Boojum Reward American Pale Ale, and what a reward it was! I thought so anyway. I just love these Western North Carolina IPAs and pale ales after all.
From the can label:
Have you seen this creature? Linked to numerous disappearances and wanted on multiple counts of theft: The Boojum of the Smoky Mountains reaches 9ft tall, is covered in grey fur, & drags a long, twisting tail behind him, yet he retains the withs, desires and ambitions of men. He teeters on the edge of man & beast. Like the Boojum himself, this American Pale Ale pushes the style to its very edge. We pack in the citrusy hot flavor and aroma of an IPA while maintaining the crisp, smooth, drinkability of a pale & finishing ever so nice and clean.
Boojum Reward American Pale Ale has an alcohol content of 5.6% by volume, I bought a single as part of a mix your own six at Ingles in Murphy, North Carolina. It was running $10.99 a six-pack, not a bad price these days. My can was stamped 06/11/24 and I bought it in July, so very fresh indeed.
Boojum Reward American Pale Ale pours to a pale orange color with a thick fluffy white head and a nose of orange marmalade. Taking a sip the beer is light to medium in body appropriate to the style. It’s juicy with grapefruit, tangerine and orange and gently resiny. It finishes very bitter with citrus peel, is eminently drinkable, and delicious.
I just love the bold hops and eminent drinkability here. For all you do, give yourself a Reward. You’ll be glad you did.
Glad I tried it? T
Would I rebuy it??
